Back in 2019, while earning my master's in management and AI, I recognized the potential of prompt engineering. This understanding gave me a head start in the field. After the release of ChatGPT in late 2022, I founded Prompt Advisers to help clients master the art of prompting.

Prompt engineering gained popularity quickly. As people flurried to buy and sell prompts, I was among the first to offer my services on Fiverr, promising to craft prompts tailored to my clients' needs. Initially, my engagement was lukewarm; however, demand surged in early 2023. I had started with low prices as I was uncertain about the market’s viability. Yet, the flood of demand allowed us to raise prices from $10 to $50 per prompt, eventually hitting hundreds of dollars for extensive prompt packages.

Achieving Prominence on Fiverr

In a period when AI required substantial guidance, specifically with models like GPT-3.5 Turbo, our Fiverr profile gained significant traction for the term “prompt engineering.” We garnered approximately 50,000 monthly impressions for that keyword alone. Collaborating with Fiverr for PR initiatives and being featured in industry articles bolstered our reputation and credibility, paving the way for further expansion into AI-related services.

At that time, I was committed to a full-time data science management position. Grounded in risk aversion, I aimed to balance my responsibilities while developing my business. My days began at 4:30 a.m. and continued until 9 a.m., resuming again from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Transitioning from side income to hiring partners and eventually a small team compelled me to ensure there was sustainable demand to support payroll.

Using YouTube to Enhance Client Engagement

A year and a half ago, I expanded my reach by starting a YouTube channel. This decision catalyzed a surge in inbound requests, allowing for a compounded growth effect alongside our Fiverr business. Although I could have transitioned to full-time entrepreneurship last August, my cautious nature prompted me to wait and assess the trajectory of the AI sector. Once I had valid insights into market stability and trends, I took the leap at the end of 2025.

Today, the inquiries I receive have evolved significantly. My role has shifted from performing tasks for companies to empowering them with knowledge. Businesses now understand their challenges and seek guidance on leveraging AI, reflecting a marked shift towards autonomy in utilizing the technology.

Training and Consulting: A Dual Approach

My services now focus heavily on AI workshops and consulting. Companies express enthusiasm for AI and often pose questions about eligibility and effective implementation. The truth is, effective AI usage requires well-established internal processes and organized data. Supportive systems and clear operational standards empower businesses to utilize AI efficiently and effectively, which is a core part of my consulting practice.

Occasionally, larger firms ask us to handle AI solutions for them. However, these discussions typically start with an educational focus, which leads to mutual understanding about responsibilities in implementation.

Transitioning from Custom Development to Consulting

Throughout 2023 and 2024, custom development comprised 70% to 80% of our operations. However, our focus has since shifted, with consulting and education now dominating our business model at 70%. The fast-paced changes in AI technology often make custom development challenging, leading us to concentrate on a select number of enterprise clients for such services.

Consulting opportunities, in contrast, are much more plentiful, ranging between 10 and 20 consultations per month. Pricing structures vary, including hourly rates and package deals for comprehensive consultations aimed at achieving specific objectives.

Smaller enterprises and larger corporations present varying needs; enterprises particularly require tailored strategies, especially regarding compliance with regulations like GDPR. Engagements with them must be nuanced and adaptive to empower departmental staff effectively.

Developing Engaging Service Packages

We’ve designed package offerings for small and medium businesses that start at $2,500, combining several consulting hours with personalized support sessions. For larger firms needing consistent assistance, we offer retainers starting at $8,000 per month, reflecting our dedication to ongoing engagement and support.

At the enterprise level, project packages range from $15,000 to over $50,000, depending on the complexity and duration of engagement.

Prompt Advisers Crosses the 7-Figure Revenue Threshold

Last year marked our first foray into seven-figure revenue, achieving $1 million milestones amid tight profit margins due to necessary scaling and hiring of developers. This year, we're poised for $1.5 million to $2 million in revenue while aiming for greater profitability.

This is what I always emphasize when advising businesses: streamline your operations. Ensure your systems are interconnected. And grasp compliance nuances since these vary greatly from one organization to another.

You Don’t Need to Be Technical to Use Claude Code

I engage with a community of 1,300 entrepreneurs, many of whom label themselves as “non-technical.” This perception can be limiting. However, understanding fundamental principles for a few hours can equip them to utilize Claude Code effectively, regardless of their technical background. The reality is that many non-technical members of our community employ Claude Code for practical tasks, enhancing their productivity across applications like PowerPoint and Excel.

Final Thoughts

Here's the vital takeaway: embracing AI and tools like ChatGPT isn't an optional skill anymore; it's rapidly becoming a baseline requirement in the professional landscape. Mark Kashef’s insights on removing mental barriers to learning this technology shouldn’t be overlooked. Those who dive into AI now will likely reap significant benefits as the learning curve flattens over time. Consider this: businesses are scrambling for professionals skilled in AI prompt engineering, a field that has recorded an astonishing 938% surge in demand, particularly on platforms like Fiverr. Companies are now actively looking to integrate AI capabilities into their operations to enhance productivity and streamline processes. This trend points to a clear conclusion—upskilling in AI isn't just an investment in your current role; it’s a hedge against obsolescence. While there might be an initial discomfort associated with learning new tech, it’s crucial to push past that barrier. The return on investment is increasingly assured, not just in terms of financial benefits, but also in fostering a more adaptable skill set that future-proofs your career. If you're in the workforce, the message is clear: establish your footing in this space now, or risk being left behind as AI technologies become further entrenched in everyday business practices.
